Frequently Asked Questions
English is my second
language. I read it better
than I speak/write it. Can I
still take the course?
Don't worry. As long as you
can read and understand the
course material clearly, you
will be able to write about
the assignments too. Our
tutors are used to students
from all over the world and
you will also find that your
ability to express yourself
in English gets better as
the course progresses. We
won't be judging you on your
language skills, only on
what you are learning
practically throughout the
course.
How
long do I have to complete
the course?
You have two years from the
day you sign up to complete
the course. In extraordinary
circumstances, an extension
can be granted. We want you
to succeed in your course,
and we will do whatever we
can from our end to help
you.
How
much work do I have to do
for the courses?
All courses require you to
do practical exercises at
home, and then report on
your experiences, so that
your tutor can judge your
progress accurately. So
there definitely is work to
be done (we do NOT give our
certificates unless they are
earned) but our students
find it generally easy and
the enjoy the assignments
very much.
What
is the "interest only"
option?
Some people are not
interested in gaining a
certificate or tutor
support; they just want to
"know what's in it" for a
specific course and read the
course materials by
themselves. For these people
we offer the choice of
buying ONLY the course
materials for approximately
half the price, which then
DOES NOT include tutor
support or certification. It
is possible to upgrade to
taking the full
certification training by
paying the difference at a
later date, although we do
not recommend that. To get
the best out of the courses,
it is best to start fresh
and allow the progression of
course units and information
to come to you in the right
order and sequence.
Do
you have bursaries/reduced
fees for special cases?
Nuns, monks and other types
of professional non-profit
volunteers can be considered
for a reduction in fees.
Each case is evaluated on
its merits. Contact us if
you believe you have a valid
case for requesting a
reduction in course fees.
